Our Wine
The Boundary Rider team believes the best wines are made in the vineyard and with the days shortening much attention is paid to the ripening fruit hanging on the vines.
Under the direction of viticulturalist Locky, harvest is organised, in consultation with our winemaker, Kym Rayner, to occur when the fruit is at its optimum. Kym’s winemaking ability and shared values have helped guide Boundary Rider fruit into wine expressive of our unique site.
Who We Are
With most of the vineyard contracted to supply some of New Zealand’s leading wineries, we selected a small block within the vineyard, rows 238-247 to make our first Boundary Rider Wines.
On April 7th 2009, we hand harvested our first vintage from the selected rows. The cool morning harvest and careful handling, sees that we retain the fresh flavours of the young fruit, giving a rich palate of tropical fruits and gooseberry with a lingering crisp finish.
